Lisa Samson brings a wide range of experience as a strategic consultant to clients of StrategyCorp. Clients in industries ranging from high tech development to low tech manufacturing have benefited from Lisa’s strategic and communications advice.
Prior to joining StrategyCorp Ottawa, Lisa Samson was the Principal Consultant for Greystone Strategic, a boutique government relations consulting firm. In this capacity, Lisa was responsible for overseeing and fulfilling client needs in the areas of political and policy analysis, communications, and strategic advice and counsel.
Lisa’s career began in federal politics. Originally from Calgary, she moved to Ottawa in the first wave of Reform Party Members of Parliament immediately following the 1993 federal election. She rose rapidly through the ranks of the party serving first as the Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament, then in a media relations position in Preston Manning’s office, advising both the Leader and other members of caucus. In 1996, Lisa was seconded into a key role in planning the 1997 federal election campaign and served as Media Logistics Director on the national tour.
Following the 1997 election, Lisa was appointed Assistant Campaign Director for the Reform Party of Canada. As a key member of the national election readiness team, Lisa was involved in the Official Opposition’s strategic planning and a variety of sensitive projects. Foremost among these was the United Alternative campaign which was the precursor that eventually led to the realignment of Canada’s political right. Lisa was centrally involved in planning the two United Alternative Conventions that culminated in the birth of the Canadian Alliance Party.
In the 2006 election campaign which resulted in the election of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Lisa was a key member of the Conservative Party war room. She has also been a frequent media commentator for her Party.
Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Honours) in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
