Brian Patterson is one of the country’s most seasoned conservative political operatives, with a keen understanding of the factors which influence the decision-making of elected officials and public servants.
Brian is a lifelong activist in federal and provincial conservative politics, both at the federal and provincial levels. He has been involved in virtually every aspect of politics, having been Director of Organization in three Ontario provincial election campaigns and Chair of two leadership campaigns -- one provincial and one federal -- on behalf of the Hon. Tony Clement.
Brian's government experience includes several senior posts at Queen's Park. He was Chief of Staff to the Hon. William Saunderson at the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism, during which time they completely restructured its operations and made the Ministry relevant again to Ontario’s manufacturers.
Brian also served as Chief of Staff to the Hon. Tony Clement at four successive Ministries: Health and Long Term Care; Transportation; Municipal Affairs and Housing; and Environment. In those roles, Brian fulfilled key responsibilities regarding the following major initiatives: the sale of Highway 407; completing Ontario’s first successful P3 hospital expansions; creating Ontario’s first private MRI clinics; overhauling the operations of Ontario’s Drug Formulary; the implementation of the largest expansion of long term care facilities in Ontario’s history.
Brian has a degree in political studies from York University. Once leaving York he worked for ten years in the Insurance Industry. He currently sits as 1st Vice-President on the executive of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party. Brian divides his time between Ottawa and Toronto, where he lives with his wife and son.
